Overview

The recommended Wi-Fi service to use while on campus is eduroam. Available in almost all buildings across UC Berkeley, eduroam is a secure, authenticated service which provides network access on campus and at many institutions throughout the world.

To access campus Wi-Fi, a key or password is needed.

Please follow the instructions on this page to get your auto-generated password. Please note: there is no option to create your own password.

Instructions for Connecting to Campus Wi-Fi

Navigate to the WiFi Keys

Navigate to the WiFi Keys section of the UC Berkeley Regional Portal.

Log in with your CalNet ID

You should be redirected to the CalNet authentication portal.

Log in using the account you want to use for wireless access.

The WiFi Keys tab of the Regional Portal should open automatically.

If you have already created a WiFi password, your account should be listed.

If you don't remember the password, please follow the instructions for Changing your WiFi Password.

Click the 'Manage Account' button

Click the 'Manage Account' button. This will take you to the Eduroam Account page.

Click the 'Create New' button

Click the 'Create New' button. This will take you to the Create Account page, which displays your eduroam account username and password.

On the Create Account page, you can click the 'Regenerate password' button to generate different passwords.

It is not possible to go back to a previous password or to enter your own password.

Click the 'Save Account' Button

Store the generated password in a secure location and click the 'Save Account' button to save the new account.

Your eduroam account has been created.

This is the last time you will be able to access your password.

Store Your Username and Password

Please be sure you store your username and password in a secure location.

For example: with LastPass Premium, which is free to staff, faculty, and students.

Once you have saved your password, check the 'I have stored my password securely' box and click the Continue button to return to the Eduroam Account page where your account should now be listed.

You are now ready to connect to the eduroam WiFi network.
