VCF welcomes Chris Stanich, Associate Vice Chancellor of Financial Planning & Analysis

The Office of VC Finanice is pleased to welcome Chris Stanich, our new Associate Vice Chancellor of Financial Planning & Analysis.

Before joining UC Berkeley, Chris was Associate Vice Chancellor/Associate Provost of Institutional Planning and Analysis for the University of Houston, where he was responsible for all aspects of institutional planning, performance measurement, policy analysis, academic data management/reporting, accreditation, and program evaluation -- highlights include:

  • directing the annual budget planning and performance evaluation processes for the UH System’s four universities and the University of Houston’s thirteen academic colleges, library and seven administrative divisions, Chris developed and successfully implemented an outcomes funding model through which the colleges are allocated resources for improved performance on key metrics
  • launching the UH Academic Data Warehouse, including reports for the university’s enrollment, degrees awarded, student demographics, faculty, credit hour production, student persistence; he is currently working on incorporating metrics related to admissions, enrollment, student characteristics, student completion, research, budget and finance, and fundraising
  • chairing a task force of eight major universities and community colleges in the Houston area to increase the number of students earning a bachelor’s degree on time and with minimal excess credit hours
  • serving as the higher education policy arm for the UH System Chancellor and Office of Governmental Relations, conducting policy and legislative analysis, formulating strategies, and developing communications used to promote the university’s state and federal legislative agendas

Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Texas A&M University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston Law Center. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
