Payroll Personnel System (PPS) Retirement

August 7, 2019
BFS Community,
As the Controller's Office has communicated previously, the Payroll and Personnel System (PPS) is being retired because of the implementation of UCPath. The key deadlines to be aware of before the September PPS retirement are listed below.
PPS "view-only" after September 26
Any final chartstring corrections for payroll processed in PPS will need to be completed in PPS before it retires. After Thursday, September 26, 2019, PPS will transition to "view only" access and it will no longer be possible to make updates. Access to the BFS suspense module will also end on September 26. If there are invalid transactions as a result of the Payroll Expense Transfers (PETs) processed in September, the Controller's Office will correct them in the following month.
Deadline to submit PET requests in ServiceNow
To ensure timely processing prior to the PPS retirement, final pre-UCPath position funding corrections (PETs) with effective dates prior to 2/28 (MO) and 3/9 (BW) should be submitted to Berkeley Regional Services (BRS) via a ServiceNow Funding Change request (and endorsed by the appropriate Department Approvers) by Thursday, August 15, 2019
Late payroll cost transfer requests
The deadline to submit late payroll cost transfer requests to Contracts and Grants Accounting (CGA) is Monday, August 26, to allow sufficient time for review and processing before the September 26 deadline.
