In order to align the functions of the Real Estate portfolio with the organizations that best support their work, we are pleased to announce that the Capital Strategies department is now a part of the VC Finance organization and the Facilities department is a part of the VC Administration organization. Capital Strategies is led by Associate Vice Chancellor Rajiv Parikh and Facilities is led by Associate Vice Chancellor Sally McGarrahan. Key priorities for the Capital Strategies department include:
- developing a long term framework for the physical development of the campus that is aligned with our academic priorities and capital capacities
- planning new housing projects to support student housing
- working closely with UCOP to structure delivery and financing methods to support campus’ financial sustainability
Key priorities for the Facilities department include:
- providing an effective, responsive maintenance organization to support the campus’ academic mission
- further developing a well integrated, multi-year capital renewal program to address long-standing renewal and deferred maintenance needs
- creating asset and data management tools to inform campus facility decisions
