Non-C&G deficit clearing waiver requests, submit form by June 19
The FY2017-18 deficit waiver form for non-contract & grant (non-C&G) funds is now available online. If your division is requesting a waiver, please complete the form byMonday, June 19.
As a reminder, all divisions are responsible to meet their operating needs within their available funding; you may only request a waiver for exceptional circumstances. More information about the non-C&G deficit resolution policy, how to clear deficits, and what happens if a deficit is not cleared, is available on the CFO website. C&G deficit clearing waiver requests, approve in BFS by June 23
The deadline for submitting FY2017-18 contract & grant (C&G) deficit clearing waiver forms for the year-end C&G deficit clearing process is Friday, June 23. Please review your division's forms and approve or reject them in the BFS system by June 23 by following the online instructions.
The year-end C&G deficit clearing process is run on all open awards, with the exception of awards with final financial reports due after May 31 and before January 1, and with anticipated funding in excess of total expenses as of June 30, 2017. More information about the process is on the Controller's Office website.
BFS departmental users will be submitting C&G deficit clearing waiver request forms via the RA Grants WorkCenter through Friday, June 16. The forms are automatically routed within the BFS system to the Divisional Finance Leader associated with the home department of the award. Final budget decisions
Thank you for taking an active role in preparing your dashboards and participating in this month's budget meetings with the EVCP and CFO. Over the next few weeks, the Chancellor and Provost will carefully consider our academic and administrative priorities as they make final budget decisions with the trusted counsel of the Academic Senate, Deans, and Vice Chancellors.

May's DFL Forum is canceled to allow additional time for the campus to complete the annual budget process.
